Frequently Asked Dent Removal Questions

What is Paintless Dent Repair?
It is a revolutionary process which allows small to large sized minor dents and dings to be removed while preserving the vehicle’s original paint and finish through a combination of skill and specialized tools.

How is it performed?
When it comes to paintless dent repair, skill and experience produce dramatically different results. Don’t trust your vehicle to some unskilled apprentice. Call Southside Dent Company and I will personally fix your vehicle.

Working from the backside of the panel, using metal rods, picks and other specialized tools I will carefully and skillfully massage out minor dents and dings ranging from creases and parking lot dings to more severe cases such as hail damage.

How long does it take?
Average repairs usually take only 30 minutes to an hour, from beginning to end. Not only do I come to you, but most repairs can be done while you wait!

What percentage of dents and dings are repairable using PDR techniques?
80 to 90% of the minor dings and dents found on a vehicle are repairable. I will be able to quickly and honestly tell you whether or not PDR is a viable solution to your problem and then use my skill and experience in this craft to provide the best possible results PDR has to offer. There is a wide range of quality and many people are unsure of the capabilities of paintless dent removal so they are willing to accept substandard repairs because they are unsure of the true potential of PDR. If you want your repairs done right, your quotes to be honest and accurate and your vehicle to look its absolute best, call Southside Dent Company today.

What types of dents and dings cannot be repaired?
Most dings and dents can be made to look “better”, some requiring more time and effort depending on the accessibility of the dent. There are, however, some problem repairs:

Deep dents – On very deep dings and dents, the metal is often pushed too deep for a complete repair. Dents near the edge of panels – Dents found near the edge of body panels, or right on a seam, can make access impossible. Dents and Dings with Deep Creases – It usually requires a skilled dent repair technician to repair creased dents, depending on the severity of the crease. In many cases, a 100% repair is not possible.

What about dents and dings located under braces?
Most of the dents found under braces can be accessed and removed by Southside Dent Co.

What size dents can be repaired using Paintless Dent Repair?
The most important size aspect to consider when using Paintless Dent Repair is not the diameter of the dent, but the depth. Often very large, shallow dents can be removed or, at least, improved.

What is the cost of Paintless Dent Repair?
It generally runs about one quarter of the cost of conventional body shop methods, depending on how many dents you have, the size of each dent, and also the placement of the dents.
